Our mission
The Greek scholar Proclus wrote: “the circle is the first, the simplest and most perfect form”. We agree with this. After all, our planet was created out of a fast-spinning circular disk that we call the sun. We think this is pretty inspiring, so we chose to call our small independent company Wonderline Productions AS, after the most wonderful shape we know. We have our base above the arctic circle in Tromsø, Norway, but work all over the world. We produce and co-produce films, creative content and make social impact campaigns. We are not saying that we are perfect. But we strive to be like the circle; natural, soft and without harsh corners or edges.
We want to be an alternative to the sometimes-hard-nosed business of the film industry and in this way create better conditions for everyone. We aim to tell stories that stand up and for something we believe in; inspiration and positive social change. We want to create impact campaigns that help important stories spread their message through visibility. And, like a circle, we know projects has the potential to be limitless. To experience limitless success and to create limitless positive social impact. Through focus. And a little extra love and care. We believe in wonders and hope you do too. Welcome to Wonderline.
People
Founder & Director
Elisabeth was born above the arctic circle with a mixed Norwegian/Indigenous heritage as the only child to a single parent household. She started her existence with what the Norwegians call “a clean sheet of paper” and a lot of freedom to explore and envision places and stories.
As she got older this lust for discovery led her to study Philosophy, International Politics and Music, before tying it all together with an MA in Sociology, Media & Communication at the City University of London. She has lived and worked in Norway, Ecuador, Spain, Panama, Germany, USA and England. One winters day in London whilst volunteering at Crisis at Christmas, Elisabeth met the subject of her first documentary, The Heart Of Bruno Wizard. The film, made in the spirit of punk, on a shoestring and totally DIY, went on to screen at festivals worldwide, be nominated for awards and sell to numerous platforms and tv stations, including Netflix as the first doc on Netflix made by a Norwegian filmmaker. This episode is trademark for Elisabeth; a fearless international mindset, going with the intuition and against the grain to challenge convention, while never failing to capture the raw emotional truths of her subjects and of the stories she tells.
She has made films for the Norwegian MS society which petitions for better circumstances for people dealing with MS. She has worked on exercise films for American veterans, and directed various Norwegian TV shows, whereas one, Norwegian Gogglebox (Sofa) was nominated for Gullruten (Norwegian BAFTA). She has made music videos for Josh Wald feat. Rachel Platten, Aggie Frost, The Chroma Keys (Hannah Giske and Knut S from Mungolian Jetset), Aggie Frost, Rune Lindbaek/Dan Tyler as well as The Homosexuals.
Her quest for working on projects aiming to either make a positive social impact or stories that uplift and inspire, steered Elisabeth to venture out as an impact producer. She has successfully launched several films which led her to create large video installation pieces and exhibit them in such places as the window of the Oxford street based Selfridges and The Barbican Museum in London, at the IDFA and design windows in Amsterdam, at the Berlinale, hotels and café’s in Northern Norway and Tudor square in Sheffield during the film festival. 100 % of the premiers have sold out, the PR campaigns have created a lot of buzz. The premiere parties have been legendary, one of which were voted “Best party of Berlinale 2017”(Montages). All in the name of creating awareness about projects which ultimate strives to make the world a better place. Elisabeth finally decided it was time to give such projects its own platform, and Wonderline Productions AS was born.
